16, 2011 - Last summer Coach Cliff
Gorham took the helm of the first
girls team to represent VA Elite on
the AAU circuit. The goal for the team
was not only to play against the best
players but competed in the major
tournaments throughout the country to
showcase his players talents. As a
true testament to his coaching and
player selection process ALL of
his players received conference recognition
from their respected high school
conferences after the 2010-11 season.

Jett sends another player to a division 1 program, 6-2 guard makes
late verbal commitment to ODU.

The Old Dominion women's basketball team added a third player to its
Class of 2010 last week when Ashley Dolgoff verbally committed. Despite
the late decision, Dolgoff, a 6-foot-2 guard from Glenelg (Md.) High
School, said she'll be on campus for the school's orientation later this
month. more

VA Elite 15u Boys finish #1 at Big Shots Philadelphia
certified Tournament

Last year the VA Elite 17 and under team
captured the Big Shots Myrtle Beach I Championship and this year the 15 and under
team coached by Jamel Bearymen (Head Coach),
Rod Smith and Thomas Gadson (Assistant
Coaches) continues the
tradition.
The
15 and Under team completed their summer
basketball season by capturing the Big Shots
Philadelphia (King of Prussia) certified
tournament championship. After an early double
digit lead Move Your Feet (opponent) tied the game in
regulation in the closing seconds. In overtime
VA Elite captured the victory 55-54.

Elite 16 and Under Girls Represent

(Herndon, VA) - Coach Cliff Gorham 16u girls
basketball team
completed their
inaugural season as the first girls basketball
team for VA Elite. Throughout the summer
season the team competed in the US Junior
Nationals, The Big Apple Challenge and other
showcase tournaments throughout the country.
Many of the players
have received interest from many of the top women's basketball program in the nation as
they showcased their talents against some of
the best players in the country. We look
forward to seeing this team as well as our new
additions to the girls program in 2011.

VA Elite 16u Girls United States Junior
Nationals (USJN)
June
2010 (Washington, DC) - The VA Elite U16 Girl's
Team competed in the USJN Premier East
Tournament and finished the tournament 5-1. Our tournament opener
was against the Suffolk Blazers where VA Elite won 50 to 48. Game 2
against the Boo Williams Elite Team resulting
in a loss (67-51). We had redemption
when we defeated Carolina Elite in game 3 in double overtime (56-55).
The VA Elite girls were again victorious in
game 4 against the Carolina Belles (63-27).
The final game resulted in another win when
the VA Elite beat Boo Williams Vikings

VA Elite 17u Boys 3-1 at Big Shots
Clemson University Tournament
April
26, 2010 (Clemson, SC) - The VA Elite 17U Boys team finished
3-1 at the National Big Shots Tournament that
was held at Clemson University. Coach Mike
Desmond team was under manned because of
illness and because of a few players taking
SAT prep classes but that didn't stop the team
from competing. As they are preparing
for brutal summer schedule this is only the
beginning of what is expected to be a good
summer.

12, 2010 - In their initial tournament appearance
the VA Elite 16u girls finished 3-1 in the 3rd
Annual Fairfax Stars "Think Pink"
tournament. Coach Gorham and Coach Carpenter immediately
put the team in the fire as they are preparing
for the best tournament in the country
"DEEP SOUTH".

Elite has taken another step forward by
adding a superb talented 16u girls basketball
team to it roster, the team will be coached by
Cliff Gorham and Kevin Carpenter. Look for the
Black and Gold on the hardwood competing in
some of the best and most competitive
tournaments in the county.

Elite Show Strong at Sonny Hill Future Stars
Tournament (Philadelphia, PA)

16, 2009 - VA
Elite took to the hardwood courts at Temple
University to complete in Philly's premier basketball
event, The Sonny Hill Future Stars Basketball
Tournament. The event provided a platform
to test the players ability to play against
some of the best players Philly had to offer.
Guy Moore, Tournament Director had an
impressive lineup of teams from Pennsylvania, Delaware,
Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey. The atmosphere
was a hoopsters paradise with good teams, good
players, high competition and GREAT GAMES!

summer AAU season isn't complete without one
of Philly's premier events. This past
weekend, the annual Sonny Hill Future Stars
Tournament took place at Temple University.
Recruit Recon was on hand to take in the
action as some of the area's and region's top
players took to the court. Here is a
look at the standout performances.

(Assistant Coaches). The team defeated
nationally known Texas D1 Ambassadors to
advance to the Championship round.
